Korean boy band BTS shines at American Music Awards. The seven-member team won last year’s Artist of the Year award for Best Artist. This is the first time an Asian music band has achieved such a feat at the American Music Awards.

BTS filled the minds of the fans by bagging awards in all the nominated categories. The American Music Awards were announced in Los Angeles on Sunday. Fans see BTS’s continued achievements as a sign of the end of American and British dominance in the music world.

BTS members tweeted that the award was being presented to fans. Prior to the announcement of the award, the concert performed at the BTS venue was well received.

My Universe, a combination of BTS and Coldplay, and Butter, BTS’s free music video, were presented at the American Music Awards. The awards ceremony greeted the performance of both groups with full applause. This is the first time that popular bands BTS and Coldplay have shared the stage together.

Along with the Artist of the Year award, BTS also won the Best Pop Choir Award and the Best Pop Song Award. With this, BTS became the first band to win the Pope Award for the fourth year in a row. The band ‘Butter’ was voted the best pop song of the past year.

The list of records and achievements does not end there, but BTS has yet to make it to the Grammys. The band ‘Dynamite’ competed in the Best Pop Duo / Group Performance category last year, but the results were disappointing. The album ‘Rain on Me’, composed by pop star Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande, was the winner in this category.

BTS has received a Grammy nomination this year as well. The band’s ‘butter’ is considered to be in the Best Group Performance category. This time BTS will compete with famous pop singers Doja Cat, Miley Cyrus, Liso and Cardi B. Fans are eagerly waiting to see if the band can shine at the Grammys.
