New Delhi : The first budget of the third term of the Modi government was presented in Parliament today by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. In this, special focus has been given on the agriculture sector. Rs 1.52 lakh crore has been allocated for it. Before presenting the budget, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that this general budget will be important in terms of Amrit Kaal. Along with setting our direction for five years, it will play an important role in laying the foundation of developed India by 2024.
In the budget, the Union Finance Minister has put special focus on farmers. The Finance Minister has announced to conduct a digital survey of Kharif crops using Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) in 400 districts of the country. He said that public support based Kisan Credit Cards will be issued in 5 states. Along with this, financial assistance has also been announced for setting up a network of centralized breeding centers for shrimp, fish, broodstock. At the same time, a national cooperation policy has been announced with the aim of accelerating the growth of rural economy and employment generation.
The Union Finance Minister has set 9 priorities in the budget. It has been said to give priority to factors like productivity in agriculture, employment and capacity development, overall human resource development, social justice, manufacturing and services, urban development, energy security, infrastructure, innovation, research and development, next generation reforms, etc.
While presenting the budget, the Finance Minister said, ‘The people of India have expressed their faith in the government led by Prime Minister Modi. They have elected him for a historic third term.’ The Finance Minister said that India’s economy is shining even in difficult times.
The Finance Minister said, ‘The growth of India’s economy continues to be excellent. India’s inflation remains stable, which is moving towards the target of four percent. There is an effort to focus on major sections like the poor, youth, women, farmers. Continuous attention is being paid to employment, skills, MSME, middle class.’
He said that there is a budget of Rs 2 lakh crore for five schemes related to employment and skill training.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said, “I am happy to announce the Prime Minister’s package of five schemes and initiatives to facilitate employment, skill and other opportunities for 4.1 crore youth over five years with a central outlay of Rs 2 lakh crore. This year we have made a provision of Rs 1.48 lakh crore for education, employment and skill.”
Apart from this, the Finance Minister has announced the extension of PM Garib Kalyan Yojana for five years. The Finance Minister said that this will benefit more than 80 lakh people on the economic front. PM’s package of five schemes for employment, skill training announced. This will benefit 4 crore 10 lakh youth in five years. Two lakh crore rupees will be spent on these schemes.
