This exercise, which makes it possible to make a diagnosis and outline ways to save money, is based on a classification of public administration expenditure into ten categories: general public services, defence, public order and safety, economic affairs, protection of the environment, housing and community facilities, health, leisure, culture and worship, education, social protection.
