The vice-chancellor of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) has resigned due to personal reasons. Satya Prasad Majumdar.
He sent his resignation letter to the Ministry of Education on Sunday (August 18).
In his resignation letter, he mentioned, ‘I joined the position of Vice Chancellor of Bangladesh University of Engineering (BUET) on July 3, for the second term. I have worked with teachers, students, officials and employees to improve the education and research of the university and to protect the reputation of BUET. Currently, I have resigned from the post of Vice Chancellor of Bangladesh University of Engineering (BUET) today (August 18) due to personal problems.
In such a situation, considering the above matter, Vice Chancellor Satya Prasad requested to take necessary measures regarding the exemption from the post of Vice Chancellor of Bangladesh University of Engineering (BUET).
It is to be noted that Satya Prasad Majumder took charge as the 14th Vice-Chancellor on 25 June 2020. June 26 of this year was the last working day of his first term. He was then appointed as Vice-Chancellor for a second term.
Satya Prasad of Daganbhooan police station of Feni district obtained his B.Sc degree in first class in 1981 and MSc degree from the same department in 1985 from the department of electrical and electronic engineering of BUET. Satya Prasad has also performed academic and administrative duties in various departments of the university.
