Interview between the Editor of Time.news and Designer Huong Queen
Editor: Welcome, Huong Queen! It’s a pleasure to have you with us today. As we celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Capital’s Liberation, your involvement in the “Heritage Footsteps” program is particularly exciting. Can you tell us what this program means to you?
Huong Queen: Thank you! It’s wonderful to be here. “Heritage Footsteps” is a beautiful initiative that allows us to celebrate and honor our traditional cultural values through fashion and art. It’s about bringing people together to appreciate the rich heritage of Hanoi and Vietnam. For me, as a designer, it is an incredible opportunity to represent our culture on such a significant platform.
Editor: You walked the red carpet at the selection session with great charisma! How do you think your presence impacted the aspiring models during this casting?
Huong Queen: I believe that confidence plays a crucial role in a model’s performance. When I walked the red carpet, I aimed to radiate positive energy. I hoped it would inspire the models to embrace their uniqueness, to feel that they are worthy of being there. This season, I was genuinely impressed by the spirit and quality of the models.
Editor: Speaking of impressiveness, can you give us a sneak peek into what your “The Queen” collection will bring to the “Heritage Steps 2” show this November?
Huong Queen: Absolutely! The collection will feature exquisite designs of traditional ao dai. We aim to showcase pieces that are not only beautiful but also encapsulate the spiritual and cultural essence of Hanoi and Vietnam. The ao dai is a proud representation of our community, and with this collection, we invite everyone to see how this art form can evolve while maintaining its roots.
Editor: It’s inspiring to hear that you want to bridge tradition with modern aesthetics. What unique aspects of the ao dai do you believe resonate most with the audience today?
Huong Queen: The ao dai is inherently elegant and versatile. It’s unique because it can represent both modesty and dramatic elegance. I feel strongly that its gentle beauty carries our cultural narrative—each detail in the design serves as a reminder of our history. We aim to present contemporary interpretations while still honoring its traditional values.
Editor: That’s a beautiful sentiment. The upcoming show will utilize 3D mapping technology for the first time. How do you think this innovation will enhance the experience for both the audience and the participants?
Huong Queen: The use of 3D mapping is an exciting addition! It’s a dynamic way to showcase the Opera House’s stunning architecture alongside the fashion. This technology will enrich the storytelling aspect of the show, creating an immersive experience for the audience. It allows us to blend art, architecture, and fashion in a unique way that reflects the sophisticated spirit of Hanoi.
Editor: It sounds like “Heritage Steps 2” is going to be a remarkable event! As we count down to November 22, what message do you hope resonates most with those who attend?
Huong Queen: I hope that through this show, everyone feels a sense of connection—to our history, to our culture, and to each other. Fashion can be a powerful medium for storytelling and cultural exchange. My goal is for the audience to leave with a renewed appreciation for our heritage and an inspiration to carry these values into the future.
Editor: Thank you, Huong Queen, for sharing your insights and passion with us. We’re all looking forward to the show and to celebrating the beauty of our cultural heritage!
Huong Queen: Thank you for having me! I can’t wait for everyone to see what we have prepared. It’s going to be a celebration to remember!
