Builders Association of India, Coimbatore Urges Collector to Control Rise in Construction Material Prices

Coimbatore: Builders Association of India, Coimbatore president Ganesh Kumar, former president Viswanathan, secretary Joseph met Collector Kranthikumar and urged them to control the rise in the price of construction materials.

Association president Ganesh Kumar said, “The price of M sandhu, B sandhu and jalli has increased by up to 30 percent. This sudden price hike has had a severe impact on construction companies, contractors and building owners.

Prices of ready-made concrete and fly ash bricks have also increased. This should be brought under control. Failure to do so will stop the construction work,” he said.

Viswanathan, former president of Builders Association of India, Coimbatore said, “Many people in the construction industry have been severely affected by the price hike. Construction activities have been reduced. Many construction workers are at risk of losing their jobs. Due to postponement of new projects, there will be slowdown in the sector. The cost of construction materials should be controlled,” he said.
