Building chosen for Turkish-Azerbaijani University

The Turkish-Azerbaijani University will operate in the former building of the Baku Higher Oil School.

As reported by Day.Az, this was stated on Tuesday in response to a request from Trend by the press secretary of the State Agency for Science and Higher Education, Parviz Aliyev.

It was noted that the Turkish-Azerbaijani University announces student recruitment for the 2024-2025 academic year in computer, industrial and food engineering. Applicants will be able to choose these specialties by participating in the specialty selection procedure from August 9 to 19.

It should be noted that the Minister of Science and Education of Azerbaijan Emin Amrullayev and the Chairman of the Council of Higher Education of Turkey Erol Ozvar signed the “Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Council of Higher Education of the Republic of Turkey “On the establishment of the Turkish-Azerbaijani University”.

On April 16, President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree “On approval of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Council of Higher Education of the Republic of Turkey “On the establishment of the Turkish-Azerbaijani University (TAU)”.

At the initial stage, the Turkish-Azerbaijani University plans to admit 100 students. The annual admission plan provides for an additional 100-200 places. Education at this university will be free and will be organized in English and Turkish.

The teaching staff will be selected from Istanbul Technical University, Middle East Technical University and Hacettepe University and will visit Azerbaijan regularly.
