Another person died in a building collapse accident in Selakarpet, Chennai.

There is a 100-year-old private building in Selakarpet’s Ekambareswarar Ahraharam area. There are 5 shops on the ground floor of this building including a drug store, a grocery store and an auditor’s office. It seems that the occupants of the houses on the first floor were vacated a few months ago due to structural damage. As a result, it is said that no one used the first platform.

This building suddenly collapsed on Friday evening. In this, U. Gangudevi (60), who had come to the drug shop operating in that building, had gone to that area, S. Venkatesh (A) Shankar (36), who had gone to Perumbakkam Aladi Amman Koil, Saravanan (34) had gone to Royal Avenue, Madhavaram, and Sivakumar had gone to Vyashpadi. (32) They got stuck.

On being informed, the fire brigade of Yanikauni rushed to the spot and started the rescue operation. Then, Gangudevi was recovered from the ruins as a dead body. Shankar, Saravanan and Sivakumar were all admitted to Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital. Shankar died there shortly after.

The flower shop police have registered a case and are investigating.
