The prosecutor’s office asked the court to issue European arrest warrants for three Ukrainian citizens in an investigation related to Aleksey Petrov. The SGP requests the arrest of Artyom Tempinski, Maksim Chornyi and Ieven Balkov, who are wanted in connection with the grenade attack against the businessman in 2015.

Alexey Petrov himself was shot 9 years later – in August of this year. in the skirts of Vitosha, and until now there is no official information of any progress in the investigation of his murder, “Sega” reports.

Before the businessman was killed, there were two unsuccessful attacks against him – in 2002 in front of the Spartak pool and in 2015 near his home. In the first case, there has been no development until now, while in the second case, a Ukrainian group of four people, who organized and carried out the attack with grenade launchers, was discovered very quickly. Roman Logvinenko was even arrested, charged and convicted as the organizer of the attempt. He was initially sentenced to 15 years, then it was reduced to 10 years, and finally he was released early last May, just 4 months before the shooting of Alexei Petrov.

The attempt in question against Alexey Petrov was carried out with grenade launchers on October 29, 2015 in Sofia, and according to the indictment, only his armored Mercedes prevented serious consequences. After the incident, Petrov offered a $100,000 reward for information leading to the discovery of the perpetrators of the failed assassination attempt. At the time, he also said that he had started his own investigation, which would involve foreign experts. He commented that the media defined the attack against him as terrorist, and on this occasion he stated: “with terrorists – as with terrorists”.

All along, the prosecutor’s office claimed that Artyom Tempinski, Maksim Chorniy and Ieven Balkov were the direct perpetrators of the grenade attack. However, there is still no trace of them. It is not clear why the prosecution is now asking for European warrants for their arrest and why this has not been done until now. There is no information whether they are in any way connected with the subsequent shooting of Petrov in August of this year.
