At the 19th Francophonie Summit, which brought together representatives of nearly 80 countries in Paris, the Bulgarian model of French language learning and employment in the labor market was cited as a very good example. Bulgaria was represented by Vice President Iliyana Yotova, who introduced the participating heads of state and government to the Bulgarian traditions in teaching French at all educational levels and the opportunities for career development thanks to the good relationship between education and business. She emphasized the active activity in this regard of the French-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The Forum “Creativity, Innovation and Entrepreneurship in French” focused attention on young people in Francophone countries and the prospects for their development. Vice President Yotova was one of four speakers at the Summit who presented the summarized proposals from the round tables dedicated to education, science and careers in French. Young people from different countries were also involved. The need for an educational exchange within the Francophone area was discussed and from a closer link between French education and business.Proposals were made to create special funds to support the training and development of young people from vulnerable groups.

“For me, the role of Francophonie is not only not diminishing, but is becoming more and more relevant and important in the modern world, full of great transformations that often outpace our readiness to meet them. The format of the Francophonie implies cooperation, frequent meetings, discussions, the search for the right solutions and, most importantly, solidarity and unification for common goals,” said Yotova. According to her, the biggest advantage of the Francophonie is that it does not dress in a uniform, does not impose patterns, but respects diversity and cultures.

“With their knowledge of the French language, people feel part of this space, in which they can freely express themselves, pose problems, look for solutions, get help,” said the vice president.
