Bulgarian athletics officially has the 5th quota for the Olympic Games in Paris this summer.

High jump competitor Tihomir Ivanov announced on his Facebook profile that he had received confirmation of his participation.

Plamena Mitkova (long jump), Mirela Demireva (high jump), Gabriela Petrova (triple jump) and Bozhidar Saraboyukov (long jump) are also competing in the French capital.

“It is with great excitement that I welcome the official confirmation that I will participate in the Olympic Games for the third time. I am very happy to have earned a place in Paris 2024!

Despite the difficulties of the season, I have 34 days ahead of me in which I will do my best to achieve my best result at the Olympic Stadium in Paris. I am highly motivated and will work hard to achieve this goal and to represent Bulgaria and myself with dignity.

Thank you to everyone who supports me and believes in me all the way,” wrote Tihomir Ivanov on the social network, for whom this will be the third Olympics.

At the Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016, he placed 10th, and in Tokyo in 2021, he missed the final with a 26th achievement.
