Bulgarian Prosecutor General Visits FBI Academy in US

Bulgaria’s acting Chief Prosecutor, Borislav Sarafov, embarks on a working visit to ‌the United States⁤ from⁤ December 10 to⁣ 14,‌ 2024. At‍ the invitation of the Federal bureau of Investigation (FBI), this trip signifies the continued ​commitment and longstanding collaboration between Sarafov, having previously served as Director of Bulgaria’s National Investigation Service, and his ‌American counterparts.

During his Washington D.C.⁤ stay, Sarafov will engage in meetings⁣ with representatives from key American‌ law enforcement agencies. A highlight of‌ the visit will⁤ be his ‌participation in⁢ a graduation ‍ceremony for​ the 292nd ‌class of ‍the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia. This​ year,Georgi Trenchev,an investigator​ from the sofia​ City prosecutor’s Office,is among the ⁤graduates.

This inclusion of a Bulgarian magistrate in the FBI ⁤Academy’s⁣ training program ​was finalized⁢ during ​Sarafov’s ⁢previous Washington visit in ​May of⁣ this year. ‍At that time, Sarafov⁤ was presented with a commendation by FBI​ Director Christopher Wray in recognition of his personal contributions to the accomplished collaboration between the‍ Bulgarian ⁤prosecution and investigation agencies and‍ the FBI in combating international organized crime.
