Three Bulgarians successfully completed a course for candidate international volleyball referees at the European Referees Commission (ERC).
Bulgaria hosted the seminar, which took place over nine days (April 23 – May 1). Lyubomir Petrov, Bozhidara Mitkova and Boyan Zhelev did an excellent job with the practical and theoretical tasks, and in the next three years they will be monitored to confirm their status as international judges.
“Thank you for the trust and for the experience you shared with us – Boyan Zhelev, who was the captain of the students, turned to the instructors and continued: Thank you to the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation and the organizers of the seminar for the wonderful conditions.”
The theoretical panel was held in the capital’s “Grammy” hotel, and the practical part included participation in the Final tournament of the State Championship for girls under 20 years of age, which was held in the “Hristo Botev” hall in Sofia.
“You are the future of refereeing and I am glad that you are starting your international career right here,” greeted the participants Lyubomir Ganev, president of the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation.
All 23 referees from 21 countries who participated successfully completed the course and received certificates. It was personally led by Zorica Bielić, who is the president of the European Commission of Judges, as well as another member of the ERC – Frans Loderus from the Netherlands. Both are part of the Laws of the Game Commission of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB).
“Thank you for the wonderful organization and the wonderful tournament, at which we were able to successfully hold the practical part”, said Zorica Bielich. Bielich and Loderus received plaques from Ganev for successfully completing the course.
