The world famous Palamedu Jallikkattu competition will be held in Madurai. Palanivel Thiagarajan and Murthy started waving the green flag.

Earlier, the ministers had asked the PDR. In the presence of Palanivel Thiagarajan, Murthy and the Madurai Collector, the cowboys took the oath.

700 bulls and 300 cowherds are participating in the Palamedu Jallikkattu competition which starts today. The first bull of the Mahalinga Swami Mutt was unloaded through the Vadivasal. It was announced that none of the players would fold.

Preparations have been made on behalf of the Madurai District Administration for the Jallikattu competition. Only 150 visitors were vaccinated in two installments.

The bulls are being unloaded through the canal located at Palamedu Manjamalai Samiyar. Matches will be held until 4 p.m.

Winners of the competition and cows not caught will be given a car, two-wheeler, cot, bureau, gold and silver coins.

Earlier all the players took the affirmative language in the presence of the collector. They were then first unloaded through the gates in honor of the temple bulls. Following that the bulls participating in the competition are unloaded.
