Mirabai Chanu wins silver: The World Weightlifting Championships are underway in Bogota, Colombia. India’s Meerabai Chanu participated in the 49 kg weight category in today’s competition. Olympic medalist Meerabai Sanu lifted a total of 200 kg (87 kg snatch + 113 kg clean & jerk), winning silver. Struggling with a wrist injury, he missed out on gold. This is Chanu’s second medal at the World Championships after earlier winning gold at the 2017 World Championships. He won gold in the Commonwealth Games earlier this year.
