The regulatory update in Paraguay that requires the incorporation of compliance (or positive) information in people’s credit reports is an element that aims to be a catalyst for the economy and financial inclusion in our country, offering greater opportunities business and access to both products and services, highlighted representatives of the company Equifax Paraguay.

In conversation with local journalists, Mario Arrúa, Vice President of Legal and Regulatory Affairs for Equifax Latin America; Hernán Pariso, CEO of Equifax Paraguay; and Juan Ballasch, the firm’s Marketing Manager, emphasized the benefits of the new information, above all for clients, who are no longer tied only to non-compliance reports.

The experts explained that financial or commercial entities can consult people’s credit history for different purposes, and that the credit bureau keeps track of activities such as credit card payments, services, and loan payments. If payments are made on time or in advance, a record will be kept and also if there is any delay.

In this line, the incorporation of data on compliance in the credit report seeks to make visible the payment behavior of a consumer, in addition to being a right and an important benefit, since timely compliance with credit obligations helps people to access greater opportunities, they indicated.

Likewise, in the case of commercial entities, the profile analysis manages to be more comprehensive and equitable because it will be possible to evaluate not only the negative data, but also the positive credit history of a person, they said. “Information on people’s credit compliance is essential to achieve greater inclusion and development in the economy, since it allows the data to favor credit applicants and to put any defaults that they may have in context,” said Mario Arrúa. . According to Equifax data, more than 2,000,000 people have payment compliance information in their history, while more than 5,000 citizens communicate monthly by telephone and receive free advice.
