Beyond Choices: The Socioeconomic Vision of President Ndayishimiye and GUAN. The Echo of Presidential Actions including the Report of HE Ndayishimiye Evariste at the Supreme Magistracy of Burundi.
Bujumbura, June 18, 2023 – In perfect alignment with the planning of the Barundi. Very relaxed, in a pleasant atmosphere, this Sunday, after a celebration alongside the faithful of the Pentecostal Church of Ntahangwa, His Excellency Ndayishimiye Evariste (Major General), President of Burundi, gave an interview to BBC Africa. Drawing up a largely positive assessment of his three years at the head of the Supreme Judiciary, he had from the start of his mandate bet on socio-economic recovery, a vision that he placed at the heart of his action, under the slogan “I am a parent, I am a worker“.
Unlike the late His Excellency Nkurunziza Pierre, who opted for political and socio-economic independence by prioritizing what the Barundi could accomplish on their own, President Ndayishimiye made a completely different choice. He decided to join the GUAN [1], as a partner, in order to succeed in this socio-economic bet, an enterprise that seems full of risks. As the BRICS door opened, offering a less risky alternative for the Barundi.
