Thirty-eight prisoners were tragically burnt in a devastating fire at a central prison in Burundi, one of the African countries.
In addition, 69 prisoners suffered severe burns.
The country’s vice president, Prosper Pajombanza, said 26 inmates had been burned to death in a sudden fire at a prison in the capital, Kittega, and 12 had died of suffocation from smoke from the blaze.
However, he did not say what caused the fire.
