During an interview with the President of the Council of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region, Rachid El Abdi, the senator who leads a delegation from the Burundian Senate visiting the Kingdom, stressed that Morocco is “very advanced” in the area of ​​local governance, particularly in terms of decentralization, deconcentration and territorial development.

Mr. Njiji Désiré emphasized the importance of the exchange of experiences and expertise between his country and Morocco, indicating that during its stay in the Kingdom, the delegation of the Burundian Senate visited also in the Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima region to learn about the very advanced Moroccan experience in terms of decentralization.

“We learned a lot about decentralization during our stay in Morocco,” he said in a statement to the press, noting that this dynamic process contributes to the development of the potential and own resources of each region.

For his part, Mr. El Abdi indicated that these talks were an opportunity to highlight the potential of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (RSK) region and the development dynamics that it is experiencing, particularly in the agricultural fields. , human development, liquid sanitation and reuse of wastewater in a context marked by water scarcity.

On this occasion, Mr. El Abdi discussed the development of the Regional Development Program (PDR), which is intended to be a strategic and reference document, put in place by the region to be more attractive in terms of investments, particularly in the industrial and agricultural sectors, in accordance with the New Development Model, emphasizing the importance of opening up more to the countries of the African continent with the aim of establishing fruitful cooperation, according to an innovative win-win partnership approach. winner.

The implementation of the advanced regionalization project was also at the heart of the visit made last Tuesday by the delegation of the Senate of Burundi to the Council of the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region.

This visit, which is part of the strengthening of cooperation ties between Morocco and Burundi, with a view to sharing the region’s experience in implementing the advanced regionalization project, was the opportunity also to highlight the distinguished ties uniting Morocco and its African partners, in accordance with the enlightened Vision of HM King Mohammed VI, who made South-South cooperation a fundamental and strategic pillar, in favor of the development of ‘Africa.
