The Automotive Tram Union (UTA) analyzes carrying out this Monday a bus stoppage in all the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area (AMBA) in claim for a salary reward.
Last week, the union that leads Roberto Fernandez warned in a statement that, in case of not reaching a salary agreement with the Ministry of Transportation, there could be a stoppage of the service.
According to what they pointed out, representatives of the business sector assure that They will not be able to comply with the minutes signed by the parties at the beginning of February given that they do not have “sufficient funds.”
“Given the statements made by the representatives of the business sector that indicate the non-compliance of the agreement signed by the parties on 02/02/24 and that was approved on 2/19/24, alleging not having sufficient funds to do so Due to technical decisions of the Ministry of Transportation, the UTA declares itself in a state of alert, warning the population that, if said non-compliance is verified starting next Monday, the 8th of this month, the normal provision of public service in the area of the AMBA”, they specified.
Taking this into account, the union warned the population: “If said non-compliance is verified, starting next Monday, the 8th of this year, the normal provision of the service in the AMBA area will be affected.”
In dialogue with THE NATIONSources close to the UTA leadership stated that the union is waiting to know which business chambers will pay the workers before moving forward or not with a strike. “The decision will be at the end of the day”they indicated.
The Truckers’ claim
The same thing happens with the Truckers union, which will advance with a measure of force if the Government does not approve the agreement reached with the business chambers through the sector’s joint agreement. “Not a leaf, a pen, is going to move in the entire country,” Pablo Moyano warned, in case the salary increase has not been validated throughout today.
“The joint ventures will be approved as soon as they are reasonable. It is part of the entire general balance,” said Economy Minister Caputo and announced that this will not be the case for Camioneros.
On the other hand, the Automotive Transport Industry Workers’ Association (AOITA) has already confirmed a strike of interurban buses in the province of Córdoba starting at 00:00 this Monday and for 24 hours.
The Transportation Secretariat of the province governed by Martín Llaryora called a meeting to intervene in the situation and reach an agreement, but upon not receiving confirmation of the payment of salaries for this Monday from the employers, the union ratified the measure of strength from midnight.
