The project promoted in phase 3 of the Economic Plan is supported by the country’s main business associations. The Pacific Port Union will modernize the port of Acajutla and the port of La Unión will be reactivated in the coming years, thanks to the joint venture with a Turkish company.

The Salvadoran Association of Industrialists (ASI), the American Chamber of Commerce of El Salvador and the Cooperation of Exporters of El Salvador (COEXPORT) support the initiative that marks the beginning of Phase 3 of the Government’s Economic Plan.

The head of the Autonomous Executive Port Commission (CEPA), Federico Anliker, toured the Port of La Unión to explain the development of the phases that will be carried out in the mixed economy company with the company Yilport Holding.

“Yilport Holding has more than 30 ports worldwide and is active in various industries: ports, logistics, mining, energy, etc. It is present in 56 countries and that is what we were looking for,” said President Anliker.

The Port of La Unión will become an important maritime terminal for the region and will be a flagship of the Economic Plan, launched by the President of the Republic, Nayib Bukele.

Furthermore, thanks to the investment of the joint venture between CEPA and the Turkish company Yilport Holding Inc., the country is seeking to position itself in port matters.
