Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI) President Mahbubul Alam said that Bangladesh Bank has been requested to extend the loan installment payment period. Failure to do so in the current scenario will result in many traders defaulting. We have demanded the governor to take action against looting and money laundering. The governor assured of punitive action against money launderers.

He said these things to the journalists after the meeting of the business representatives with the Governor of Bangladesh Bank on Tuesday (August 20).

The president of FBCCI said that due to the high value of the dollar, traders are suffering losses. We have asked the governor to control it. At the same time, we have informed that the businessmen will work to keep the economy in order. Businessmen will support all the good steps of the government and the development of the country.

Abdul Awal Mintu, former president of FBCCI, said that he asked the governor to take strict action against those who looted wealth illegally, acquired wealth illegally and those who looted banks. Traders are in favor of taking any action against traders who are involved in looting.

Executive President of BKMEA Mohammad Hatem said that EDF funds have been reduced. It is hindering import and export. Businessmen are suffering. Besides, businessmen are suffering due to restriction of activities of 6 banks. The businessmen have been asked to consider the matter.
