In Russia, more than 500 criminal cases have already been opened for the manufacture and sale of fake vaccination certificates. It is important to note, however, that the responsibility for buying and selling fake certificates has recently changed.
“On November 8 of this year, the order of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation on the approval of the form of medical documentation came into force, which approved the form of the document called” Certificate of preventive vaccinations against a new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) or medical contraindications for vaccination and (or) a past disease, caused by a new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) “, – recalls Advocate Igor Vetrov. – For offenders, namely sellers and buyers of fake certificates, this radically changes the situation, since the certificate has become an official document.”
Therefore, according to the lawyer, now offenders can be held criminally liable for committing a crime under Article 327 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Forgery, production or circulation of forged documents, state awards, stamps, seals or letterheads.”
“Accordingly, for the forgery and sale of a vaccination certificate (part 1 of Article 327 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to two years is threatened. And for the purchase of this document (part 3 of the same article), the maximum punishment is imprisonment for up to one year. It is also necessary to recall that scientists have already developed a test system to check whether a person has actually been vaccinated, and it is already successfully detecting buyers of fake certificates, “added Igor Vetrov.
