New Delhi: Buying a house in Delhi has now become easier. For property registration, one will not have to depend on a sub-registrar of the concerned area. People will be able to get their property registered in any sub-registrar office of Delhi as per their convenience. Delhi Chief Minister Atishi has approved the ‘Anywhere Registration’ policy for this.
Under this new policy, the compulsion of people to go to a specific sub-registrar office for registration will end and people will be able to take online appointment in any of the 22 sub-registrar offices of Delhi as per their convenience.
11 thousand houses in Delhi will soon get electricity connections, unauthorized colonies will be affected due to PM-UDAY scheme
What are the rules now?
To buy or sell property in Delhi, people have to go to the sub-registrar office, where the property is registered and all types of legal actions related to its ownership are taken. Presently the rule is that the buyer and the seller have to go to the respective sub-registrar office of the same area for registration of the property.
Often many types of complaints come to the fore regarding sub-registrar offices. There are many sub-registrar offices where due to heavy workload, there are long queues and it takes a long time to book an appointment or get the property registered.
Why did you take this decision?
There are some sub-registrar offices where there is not much crowd and the work gets done quickly. Complaints about allegations of corruption are also often received in overcrowded offices. To solve these problems, Delhi Government has now approved the ‘Anywhere Registration’ policy.
Will work as Joint Sub-Registrar
CM Atishi said that after the implementation of this policy, people will be able to get their property registered by going to any sub-registrar office in Delhi. People will not have to be limited to only one particular sub-registrar office for property registration. All the Sub Registrar offices of Delhi will now work as Joint Sub Registrars and their area of work will be in entire Delhi. People will be able to get their property registered by taking an online appointment at any of the 22 sub-registrar offices in Delhi.
Waiting period will be less
If it is taking more time in the sub-registrar office of the concerned area, then if a quick appointment is available in the sub-registrar office of any other area, then people will be able to go there and get their work done. This will ensure proper distribution of work in sub-registrar offices and the waiting period will also be reduced.
Interview between Time.news Editor and Property Registration Expert
Editor: Welcome to Time.news! Today, we have a guest who is an expert in property law and registration. We’re here to talk about a significant recent change in property registration in Delhi. Thank you for joining us!
Expert: Thank you for having me! I’m excited to discuss the ‘Anywhere Registration’ policy and its implications.
Editor: Absolutely! To start with, could you explain what the ‘Anywhere Registration’ policy entails and how it differs from the previous property registration process?
Expert: Certainly! The ‘Anywhere Registration’ policy, approved by Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, allows residents to register their property at any of the 22 sub-registrar offices across Delhi, regardless of where the property is located. This marks a departure from the old rule where both the buyer and seller had to visit the specific sub-registrar office corresponding to the property’s location. This new flexibility is a huge relief for residents.
Editor: That sounds like a significant improvement! What prompted this policy change?
Expert: The introduction of this policy is a response to long-standing frustrations related to bureaucratic processes. Many buyers and sellers found it inconvenient and time-consuming to travel to a specific office. The government aimed to streamline the process, making it more accessible and efficient for everyone involved in property transactions.
Editor: ‘Anywhere Registration’ sounds very promising! How do you think this will affect the housing market in Delhi?
Expert: This policy is expected to invigorate the housing market significantly. By making registration more convenient, we may see an increase in property transactions. Moreover, this ease of access will likely attract more potential buyers, particularly in an environment where home ownership is often seen as a challenge.
Editor: That’s interesting! Are there any specific groups of people who will benefit the most from this change?
Expert: Yes, definitely. Firstly, individuals living in unauthorized colonies, who previously faced barriers in getting registrations, will now have a more straightforward path to legalizing their properties. Additionally, first-time homebuyers and those relocating within the city will find this new system convenient and accessible.
Editor: Speaking of unauthorized colonies and electricity connections, I’ve heard that around 11,000 houses are set to receive electricity under the PM-UDAY scheme. How might this intersect with the new registration policy?
Expert: Connectivity and essential services, like electricity, are crucial for property development and value. The PM-UDAY scheme aims to regularize unauthorized colonies, which coincides perfectly with the new registration policy. As these colonies receive services and legal recognition, it will likely enhance property values and stability in the housing market.
Editor: That synergy between policies is fascinating. As we wrap up, what advice would you give to potential buyers in light of these changes?
Expert: My advice would be to stay informed about the new processes and utilize the flexibility offered by the ‘Anywhere Registration’ policy to choose an office that is most convenient for them. Also, conducting thorough research on property rights and ensuring due diligence before any purchase is always prudent.
Editor: Wise words indeed! Thank you so much for sharing your insights with us today. It’s evident that these changes can reshape the property landscape in Delhi for the better.
Expert: Thank you for having me! I’m looking forward to seeing how these changes will evolve and impact residents in Delhi.
