Dortmund gambled away the shell in a memorable championship final – and one seemed to know what was going to happen beforehand.
Bayern star Thomas Müller published a video on Instagram on Friday, one day before the championship final. And talks about the pressure on the BVB team.
Müller: “200,000 to 400,000 fans would be expected at a championship celebration. To meet the expectations of so many people, you have to do that first with a broad cross on the pitch if the whole of Dortmund South wants to win. As a player, you have to withstand that first of all.”
Words that now sound almost prophetic. Because BVB played against Mainz (1: 2) like paralyzed. Shock after the 0: 1 (15th), incredulity after the missed penalty from Haller (19th), bewilderment after the 0: 2 (24th).
