Dr. Ajay Mistry was just four years old in 1971 when he lost his father due to lack of health facilities. Since then his mother had only one dream to build a hospital in the village so that everyone could get timely treatment. His mother Subhasini Mishra not only made her son a doctor by selling vegetables but also became a means of helping many by fulfilling her dream.
The son fulfilled the dream of a vegetable selling mother by becoming a doctor and thus opened the first free hospital for the needy in the village. This is not the story of any film but a story of real life. It is the year 1971, when Subhasini Mishra, living in Haspukur area of Kolkata, lost her husband due to lack of proper health facilities. At that time he was only 23 years old and his family was also not financially strong.
Suddenly the responsibility of raising their children fell upon them.
After which Subhasini raised four children alone by selling vegetables and had just a dream to open a hospital for the needy in the village. So that no one else loses their life like her husband due to lack of health facilities.
To fulfill his dream, he worked hard day and night to make his younger son Ajay a doctor. During this time many people also made fun of him. But Subhasini never let her courage wane. Along with himself, he also inspired his son to help the needy people, so that after becoming a doctor, instead of going to another city, he could stay in his village and treat people.

Started treating the economically weaker people of the village for free in a small, mud-built room made of bamboo. With time, in 1993, he also got a fund of Rs 8000 from which he started working by building a small hospital named ‘Humanity Hospital’. His noble initiative also saw many ups and downs. But in this long journey of 30 years, Dr. Ajay never allowed this hospital to be closed.
This is the reason why today many people have become a part of Dr. Ajay’s efforts, through which he is able to help not only the people of his village but also the people of many villages around Haspukur.
