C2A Security’s collaboration with Marelli will greatly impact the center whose goal is to perform security tests on connected cars while implementing dedicated DevSecOps processes for the automotive industry *The joint solution will be presented at an NTT Israel event ahead of the Cybertech conference

C2A Security, an Israeli company that develops the first DevSecOps platform for car manufacturers, was chosen together with the Italian company Marelli, which develops and manufactures components for the car industry, by NTT Data Corporation, a Japanese international player in the field of IT services, as the first project of the new global center for security checks in the automotive field. The connection with NTT Data was made by NTT Innovation Laboratory Israel (NTT Israel), a subsidiary of NTT worldwide, which works to integrate Israeli technologies into services and products developed by NTT, as well as to locate products and technologies that can be distributed and marketed to NTT customers worldwide, as well as business collaborations and investment opportunities with and in Israeli companies.

The center, launched in Italy, will provide security tests on connected cars to secure and protect the systems of such vehicles against cyber attacks for customers in all countries where the group operates (over 50 countries worldwide).

“We want to apply our expertise in information security to the connected car sector,” said MReko Garli, head of the automotive sector atNTT DATA Italy. “Thanks to our global vehicle security testing center, NTT DATA will be an international point of reference for protecting connected cars from cyber attacks and ensuring the safety of drivers.”

In accordance with the new European vehicle security regulations, the new global testing center will offer innovative solutions to protect connected vehicles from cyber attacks. With C2A Security and Marelli as their lead project, the new NTT DATA center will be able to respond to the changing cyber threats that exist in the world today and will be in the future.

The solution tested using C2A Security’s flagship EVSec Platform product includes the automatic creation of a “Fuzz Testing System”, a technology that aims to reveal bugs and vulnerabilities in the vehicle’s ECU software. The project carried out with C2A Security and Marelli also covers anomaly detection in communication between ECUs and is particularly innovative because artificial intelligence algorithms can detect any attacks in progress and send alerts to a control center (Vehicle Security Operation Center) that can intervene immediately.

“This unique collaboration is a significant opportunity for C2A Security to interact with a wide range of customers around the world who trust the reputation of NTT DATA”, said Roy Friedman, CEO C2A Security. “NTT DATA is a strong partner who trusts our holistic approach to protecting connected vehicles as the right solution for their new global test center. We are happy to offer NTT customers a smooth and automatic verification tool at the system level in order to find bugs and critical vulnerabilities ahead of time.”

C2A Security synchronizes key players in the automotive industry with current and future safety regulations, and integrates intelligent distributed and verification technology into the vehicle development process, which includes several stages of testing and integration of the verification process into an efficient software development process.

“The innovation lab of NTT Israel was established with the aim of promoting and finding Israeli start-ups for collaborations and investments. says Noa Asher, CEO of the innovation lab of NTT Israel. “This project is an extraordinary opportunity for NTT Data to get to know the Israeli ecosystem and the technological capabilities that exist in the country, as well as to find additional collaborations with Israeli startups.”
