The Council of Ministers has approved a proposal to this effect from Ministers Franc Weerwind (Legal Protection) and Dilan Yeşilgöz (Justice). The Ministry has been working with the police, the Public Prosecution Service, judges and lawyers on the thorough renewal for almost ten years.
Weerwind is “proud of it”, he said after the cabinet meeting. According to him, it is about the rule of law and that a clear answer is given to crime. “I believe the whole bill is 80 centimeters, almost a meter. It shows how complex and how incredibly important the law is.”
