The office of the Minister of Infrastructure, João Galamba, will be investigated by the Judiciary Police and the Public Ministry.
SIC is aware that DIAP and Lisbon and the Judiciary Police will investigate all the behaviors that led to the delay in delivering documents to the commission of inquiry about TAP.
As SIC has learned, this part of the investigation will focus on the behavior of Frederico Pinheiro, the former deputy of João Galamba, but also on the behavior of members of the cabinet of the Minister of Infrastructure.
The investigation of suspicions of distortion of documents and records in electronic equipment is also foreseen.
Specifically, the Public Ministry and the Judiciary Police want to investigate whether the documents that were on Frederico Pinheiro’s computer were distorted after or even before the exoneration order given verbally by Minister João Galamba.
This point of the investigation will cover the period even before the computer came into Frederico Pinheiro’s possession, after the turbulent times at the Ministry of Infrastructures on the night of April 26, until it was handed over to the SIS agent; but also from that moment until the delivery of the computer to the State IT management office and then to the Judiciary Police.
The PJ and the MP are still investigating the possible distortion in recent weeks of documents and data from Frederico Pinheiro’s mobile phone, which was delivered by himself to the inquiry committee this Wednesday.
At the beginning of next week, a meeting will be held between the Department of Investigation and Criminal Action of Lisbon and the Judiciary Police to agree on the entire strategy of this sensitive investigation.
Frederico Pinheiro: “Pedro Nuno Santos is also on my side, like many friends”
Frederico Pinheiro, former deputy of João Galamba, arrived at the Government by the hand of the former Minister of Infrastructure, with whom he says he has “a friendly relationship”.
He was assistant to Pedro Nuno Santos until he resigned in the aftermath of the controversy over the compensation paid by TAP to Alexandra Reis. To the Renaissance, he now assures that his friend is on his side.
“After my discharge, I spoke with Dr. Pedro Nuno Santos of normal themes. We are talking about family issues. Of course I reported to him that he had been discharged, but Dr. Pedro Nuno Santos and I have a friendly relationship”, said the former deputy, who this week went to explain to Parliament about the controversy surrounding the removal of a computer from the Ministry’s premises and the involvement of SIS in the case.
Galamba vs. Galamba: the contradictions in the hearing and press conference statements
At the commission of inquiry, João Galamba’s statements did not always coincide with what he himself said three weeks ago, when he held a press conference shortly after the deputy’s dismissal.
SIC highlighted some of the similarities and differences between Galamba on May 18th and Galamba on April 29th.

What has not changed in less than a month is the importance and weight of the head of the cabinet of the Minister of Infrastructure, highly praised by Galamba and to whom he sent most of his responses.
The Infrastructure case
In view of the public knowledge of a preparatory meeting between the PS parliamentary group, members of Government offices and the former executive president of TAP, Christine Ourmières-Widener, on the eve of the hearing in the Economy commission, in January, and the consequent controversy over the notes of that meeting, João Galamba’s audition was brought forward.
On Wednesday, Frederico Pinheiro was heard, who was involved in the April 26 case, having been accused of physical violence at the Ministry of Infrastructure and the theft of a laptop, after being exonerated.
The controversy increased when the intervention of the Security Information Service (SIS) in the recovery of that computer was reported.
