At that time, the Chief Minister had stated that the post was to use Sampat’s experience as an MP.

At present there are two representatives of Kerala in Delhi for the same work. A senior IAS officer is working centrally at Kerala House. Also former diplomat Venu Rajamani is Kerala’s Special Representative in Delhi. Apart from these two, KV Thomas has been appointed.
