“As requirements evolve and the demand for higher bandwidth, lower power and more efficient management of cache coherence increases, new protocols are being launched that address these issues,” said Paul Cunningham, senior vice president and general manager of the system and authentication group at Cadence.

Cadence Design Systems announced the availability of 13 new Validation IP (VIP) solutions that enable engineers to quickly and efficiently validate their designs, meeting the specifications of the latest standard protocols.

The new Cadence VIP offering enables customers to securely develop the next generation of vehicles, massive data centers, SoCs (systems on a chip) and mobile microcontrollers while keeping pace with the latest industry standards, which include Arm AMBA 5 CHI-f, Universal Chiplet Interconnect Express (UCIe), GDDR7, DDR5 DIMM, , MIPI A-PHY, SoundWire I3S and USB4 2.0 interfaces.

The new Cadence VIP solutions offer customers comprehensive validation for the most complex protocols. Customers are given access to a VIP-wide application programming interface (API) with full bus function models (BFMs), integrated protocol testing and coverage models, facilitating rapid adoption.

All Cadence VIP solutions include Cadence TripleCheck technology, which provides users with a specification-compliant verification scheme linked to comprehensive coverage models and a test suite to ensure compliance with interface specifications. The new VIP also supports Cadence’s IP – System VIP extended system-level validation, which provides SoC-level test libraries, performance analysis, and data and cache coherency checkers. With the expanded System VIP portfolio, customers can experience up to a tenfold improvement in efficiency compared to a manual SoC verification process.

“As requirements evolve and the demand for higher bandwidth, lower power and more efficient management of cache coherence increases, new protocols are launched that address these issues,” he said. Paul Cunningham, senior vice president and general manager of the system and validation group at Cadence. “With the 13 new VIPs, Cadence offers customers solutions that ensure their designs meet standard specifications as well as application-specific timing, power and performance metrics, providing the fastest path to closing IP and SoC validation.”
