The Cadillac team, one of two US-based F1 outfits alongside Haas, aims to establish itself as “America’s new team.” The ad campaign powerfully leveraged audio from President John F. A Livery Divided

The 2026 Cadillac car will feature a visually arresting design: primarily black on the right side and primarily white on the left. While the chassis name remains undisclosed, the livery immediately sets Cadillac apart. Testing and Development Underway

Despite the grand reveal, the Cadillac team has already begun on-track preparations. Operated by TWG Motorsports, the team has completed initial running at Silverstone and a collective shakedown at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. During the Barcelona test, the car completed 164 laps – roughly equivalent to two and a half Spanish Grand Prix race distances.

However, performance during the Barcelona shakedown revealed a significant gap to the front of the field. The Cadillac completed the test over four seconds slower than the fastest lap time, trailing all other participating teams except Aston Martin, which did not utilize its full three-day testing allotment.

Power Unit Strategy

Cadillac will initially rely on Ferrari for its power units, a partnership that will continue until the anticipated debut of Cadillac’s own bespoke power unit in 2029. This phased approach allows the team to enter the sport competitively while simultaneously developing its long-term engine program.
