An agenda that will not suit recipients of the Family Allowance Fund (CAF). Usually paid on the 5th of each month, the various CAF allowances will be delayed until May 8 or 9 this year.
And for good reason, this month the 5th falls on a Sunday, which prevents the payment of allowances on that date. “If the 5th of the month falls on a Saturday, the payment is made on Friday the 4th. If it is a Sunday, the payments take place on Monday the 6th,” the institution indicates on its website.
13.8 million households
However, this payment is not instantaneous and could, depending on the banks, take several more days to arrive. Some beneficiaries will therefore receive their aid on Wednesday May 8 or Thursday May 9. A delay which could significantly impact the beneficiaries.
Our colleagues from Journal du Net report that 13.8 million French households are affected. Among the expected aid, we find family allowances, Active Solidarity Income (RSA), the activity bonus, the Allowance for Disabled Adults (AAH) or personalized housing assistance (APL).
According to the CAF calendar, this type of delay should not recur in 2024. Only allocations for the month of December will record a slight delay with payment on Monday January 6, 2025.
