Cairo talks on Gaza end without agreement

“Talks in Cairo on a ceasefire in Gaza ended without reaching an agreement,” according to American media..

American media quoted two Egyptian security sources as saying, “The ceasefire talks between Hamas and the Israeli army ended without reaching an agreement.”

The source pointed out that: “The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas and Israel did not agree to many of the solutions presented by the mediators.”

The Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, William Burns, the Prime Minister of Qatar, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, and the Director of Egyptian General Intelligence, Abbas Kamel, participated in the Cairo talks yesterday, Sunday.

“A high-ranking delegation from the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, headed by leader Khalil al-Hayya, arrived in Cairo at the invitation of mediators in Egypt and Qatar, in order to listen to the results of the negotiations that took place in Cairo last Thursday,” according to a statement issued by the movement.

It is noteworthy that the Israeli attack on the Gaza Strip has so far resulted in more than 40,000 deaths and 92,000 injuries, while more than 7,000 people are still missing under the rubble resulting from the ongoing bombing throughout the Gaza Strip.
