Caixa announced this Friday, 8th, support measures for municipalities affected by the cyclone in Rio Grande do Sul, which has already left at least 41 people dead. In addition to helping local authorities to speed up the payment of the FGTS Calamity Withdrawal to workers who live in regions declared to be in a state of emergency or public calamity, the bank will offer customers other special conditions, such as a pause in installments on housing contracts.

This Friday, the vice-president of Caixa’s Operating Agent, Lucíola Aor, and the vice-president of Retail Business, Maria Cristina Abdelnour Farah, will be in Lajeado (RS) to lead the bank’s technical assistance to municipalities, with architects and engineers, for assistance in the operationalization of transfers of resources.

According to the bank, city halls will be able to count on support to survey the damage and estimate costs for the recovery of works in progress or buildings affected in contracts already monitored by the institution, such as bridges, access roads, water supply, health centers , schools, among others.

In relation to the FGTS Calamity Withdrawal, it is necessary to have a balance in the fund account and not have made a withdrawal for the same reason in a period of less than 12 months.

The maximum withdrawal amount is R$6,220. In housing contracts, the institution allows for a break of up to 90 days in payments in the regions served, upon request at the agencies. The installments are incorporated into the customers’ outstanding balance.

Caixa also offers special credit conditions for individual and legal customers in the affected areas, such as pauses in loan installments and renegotiation of contract conditions, depending on the modality.

There is also action for facilitated flow for service and release of indemnities at Caixa Seguridade (BVMF:).
