CaixaBank and Microsoft reward STEM degree students

CaixaBank and Microsoft have awarded the 16 best students of scientific and technical university degrees in Spain (STEM) with the Wonnow Awardswhich recognize female excellence to promote diversity and contribute to reducing the gender gap, the banking entity explained this Monday in a statement.

In the 2023 edition, the participation record has been broken with 1,006 applications from 77 Spanish universities, a figure that almost quadruples the figure for 2018, when 272 participants applied.

Since the first edition of the Wonnow Awards, 3,764 students have participated and, currently, 18 of the young winners in previous editions continue working in the CaixaBank Group and two of them at Microsoft.

The CEO of Caixabank, Gonzalo Gortazarhas highlighted the high quality of this year’s nominations, which has been a challenge for the jury, while the president of Microsoft in Spain, Alberto Granados, has highlighted the contribution to reducing the gender gap of these awards.

The student with the best academic record, personal, professional and social career has been Inés Álvarez de Toledo (Madrid), double degree in Business Analytics and Computer Engineering at the Francisco de Vitoria University, in Madrid, awarded with 10,000 euros and access to a Microsoft mentoring program.
