CaixaBank brings the Book Fair closer to children at risk of exclusion

A total of 40 children at risk of social exclusion linked to the Valdeperales Associationa social animation center that develops educational and social programs in the FuencarraI-El Pardo District of Madrid, have visited the Madrid Book Fair with the help of CaixaBank, official sponsor of this literary event.

The financial entity has promoted the first of the ‘ups and downs’ of the 83rd edition of the Fair, which will be held between May 31 and June 16 at the El Retiro Park in Madrid under the motto ‘Sport illuminates the Fair’.

As reported CaixaBank Through a statement, the ‘Estampacuentos’ workshop was held at the Luis de Góngora Public School and children between the ages of six and eight from the Valdeperales Association participated, accompanied by the territorial director of CaixaBank in Madrid, Xicu Costa, and the director of the Book Fair, Eva Orúe.

The activity consisted of illustrating texts using stamping and printing techniques that were taught to the minor members of En Volandas, a cultural management company in the educational field. The minors are scheduled to return to the Book Fair in June.

The territorial director of CaixaBank in Madrid has highlighted the “opportunity” given to these children to “enjoy the Fair beyond its 17 days of duration.” «This illustration by printing workshop brings the little ones, in a playful way, to an object as unique and special as the book.
