CaixaBank Leon and the Provincial Council of León They have expanded the bank’s mobile office service to another 108 towns in the province to avoid financial exclusion.

Three office vehicles already serve a total of 147 locations in 132 municipalities of the province where more than 25,000 people reside.

The financial entity has incorporated these new routes thanks to the agreement signed with the provincial institution last September and as a result of which a first presentation was made on September 26, chaired by Gerardo Álvarez Courel as the head of the Provincial Council.

Since the beginning of October, the CaixaBank office has been providing service in 39 towns in the province and, with the extension of the route, the mobile offices now travel almost 9,000 kilometers, making León the province with the greatest coverage of this service in Spain.

The ofimovil service, also called bancobús, favors the financial inclusion since it allows users, whether or not they are clients of the entity, to carry out the most common banking operations, among which are withdrawing cash, making deposits and paying bills and taxes in municipalities without a bank office or with restrictions that limit access to financial services.

70 percent of users are over 70 years old, which demonstrates the commitment of the Provincial Council and CaixaBank to rural areas and to the senior community.
