CaixaBank has participated in the ‘Concordia’ consortium along with 59 other entities from 21 countries across Europe, with the aim of defining the foundations of the European cybersecurity ecosystem.

The project, framed in the ‘Horizon 2020’ program that started in January 2019 and ended this year, has focused on the definition of a cybersecurity roadmap to improve coordination and communication between organizations, companies and States of Europe in this matter.

Within the consortium, CaixaBank has participated with the company Atos in the development of a tool to make sharing data related to cybersecurity and financial fraud (such as phishing cases, bank accounts, cards…) “more flexible and secure”.

The purpose of this use case is to promote the secure exchange of information to facilitate coordination between different European organizations and companies. The entity has helped to configure this tool to be able, for example, to define in great detail what information needs to be anonymized and specific groups with whom to share it.

CaixaBank has been the only Spanish bank that is part of this flagship project of the European Commission, which has had a budget of 16 million euros and in which multiple sectors have been represented. The project covers different fields, such as research and innovation, education and skills, economy, investment, legal and political affairs, standardization, certification and building the European cybersecurity ecosystem.
