The Calgary Ecumenical Fellowship’s Christmas celebration “Gloria-23” was a festivity filled with joy and giving. The event, held at the RCCG House of Praise on Redstone Hts, saw members from various parishes come together to celebrate the holiday season.

The ceremony began with the lighting of the lamp by the chief guest and committee members. Abhiwandya, the chief guest, and Archbishop Gregory Kerr Wilson of the Calgary Anglican Church delivered a Christmas message, emphasizing the importance of working with Christ in our hearts, rather than just celebrating the holiday.

Rev. Joji Jacob, President of the Calgary Ecumenical Fellowship, along with Fr. George Varghese, Vicar of St. Mary’s Malankara Orthodox Church, and other religious leaders, greeted the gathering and led the prayer.

The event also featured prize distributions and greetings from sponsors and community leaders, including Shays Jacob, James from Sears Credit Union, and Joseph John from Malayalam Mission Canada.

“Gloria-23” was not only a celebration but also a showcase of diverse Christmas art programs by various parish members. The event was filled with music, art, and performances, bringing the community together in the spirit of Christmas.

The celebration concluded with a love feast and a closing prayer, bringing a heartwarming end to the evening. Members from St. Jude Syro Malankara Catholic Mission, Saint Mary’s Malabar Church, St. Thomas Jacobite Syriac Church, and other parishes were all part of the festive “Gloria-23”.

The highlight of the evening was the charitable donation made to Compassion Canada by the committee members, showing that the spirit of giving and compassion was truly at the heart of this Christmas celebration.
