California Chamber of Commerce takes interest in the virtues of the Sonora Plan

He Government of Sonora through the Council for Sustainable Development of Sonora (Codeso)presented the Sonora Plan of Sustainable Energies before legislators and businessmen of the California Chamber of Commerce.

Within the framework of the 15th Mexican Day at the California Capitol (Advocacy Day)the Government of Sonora presented the virtues of the Sonora Plan in Sonora, which aims to promote the energy transition in our country, in addition to gradually abandoning the consumption of fossil fuels and moving towards the consumption of clean energy.

“That is the origin of the Sonora Plan. And there is the Puerto Peñasco plant, four more that are underway, the liquefaction plants, the use of lithium,” said the governor. Alfonso Durazo Montano.

Derived from the coincidences important relations that exist between both states, an agreement of understanding and collaboration will be signed between Sonora and California.

On behalf of Governor Alfonso Durazo Montaño, Francisco Acuna Mendezhead of the State Executive Office, highlighted that the Sonora Plan has been key piece in the state’s development strategy, including the construction of the largest photovoltaic plant in Latin America, the development of value chains for the responsible exploitation of lithium reserves and the modernization of the state infrastructure.

This plan, he said, not only seeks to generate clean energybut also to promote the economic development and the creation of employment through investments in renewable energy, mining and electromobility.

“California entrepreneurs are recognized for their innovation and vision to generate clean energy and accelerate the energy transition. With the Sonora Plan, we will continue to promote our state and generate the necessary conditions for the creation of better-paying jobs,” added Acuña Méndez.
