Authorities in Bogotá dismantled a complex criminal network dedicated to extortion.

The organization, coordinated by a married couple, used a variety of methods to extort, including sexting, false services, impersonation of illegal groups, false parcels and return of goods.According to the acting Bogotá Police Commander, Colonel William Javier Lara, the criminals created accounts in payment applications to receive deposits and money transfers from their victims. A notebook was found with the data of more than 2,000 people potentially affected by their extortions.
