Open call for the 2024 Entrepreneur of the Year Award
He Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2024 seeks to recognize the talent, creativity and effort of women who have transformed the business world in Guatemala. This award is given by organizations Women Entrepreneurs Guatemala —MEG— y Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Organization —WEDO—who for 11 years have been celebrating and awarding the most outstanding entrepreneurs in the country within the framework of the International Women’s Entrepreneurship DayNovember 19th.
The award not only recognises the positive impact of women in the business world, but also gives them visibility and support to help their projects continue to grow. The event is a unique opportunity to access a platform that empowers women entrepreneurs, providing them with tools, knowledge and contact networks that allow them to strengthen their skills and competencies through conferences and workshops.
Application requirements, dates and process
To be eligible to participate in the 2024 edition of the award, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Being the founder of a business: The applicant must have started the business project that he/she is presenting.
- More than four years of sustainable operation: The venture must be operating sustainably for more than four years.
- Motivation for growth: Applicants must demonstrate interest in belonging to a community that fosters their personal and professional development.

Once the application process is complete, applicants must wait for notification of whether they have advanced to the next phase, which consists of a series of interviews. The finalists who win the award will not only receive recognition from WEDO, but will also become part of the WEDO network. Women Entrepreneurs Guatemalaa group that brings together more than 45 women who have been recognized for their entrepreneurial work in previous editions of the award.
