Call for applications for the MuniGuate training program for entrepreneurs
The Entrepreneurship and Innovation Unit of the Municipality of Guatemala has opened the call to participate for free in the Training program for Guatemalan entrepreneurs with the aim of promoting both traditional businesses and innovative ideas and projects. Through the Entrepreneurship Center and the Business Incubator, participants will receive advice and key tools to strengthen their businesses by addressing the specific needs of each group.
This program is aimed at Entrepreneurs from Guatemala City who are looking to develop business ideas or improve the profitability, sustainability and disruptive capacity of their projects. Participants will have access to specialized advice on crucial issues for business success, such as business models, financial viability, tax and legal aspects, business management, and growth strategies.
In addition to training, participants will be able to access marketing spaces through La Estación del Emprendedor, establish connections with partner institutions, and participate in investment competitions that could accelerate the growth of their businesses. The training not only focuses on skills development, but also offers real opportunities for entrepreneurs to put what they have learned into practice and expand their network of contacts.
Training Program Details
The programme is structured into three or four consecutive modules with a total duration of between 9 and 12 months. Each module is designed to address different aspects of the entrepreneurial process:
- Pre-incubation module: Focused on the development and validation of business ideas, this module is ideal for those who are in the initial phase of their entrepreneurship.
- Module I: Focused on analysis and strategies for attracting business models, helping entrepreneurs identify and take advantage of market opportunities.
- Module II: Oriented towards business feasibility covering topics such as internal processes, resources, strategic alliances and costs.
- Module III: Addresses the definition of a growth and investment plan, as well as the development of managerial skills to lead and scale the business successfully.
Sessions will be held once a week at in-person modality starting in September 2024. Each module lasts approximately three months.
Requirements and registration process
Those interested in participating must meet certain basic requirements, such as residing in Guatemala City, having a business idea or an innovative venture in progress, and having the technical and human resources necessary to develop the proposal.
The registration process is simple and is carried out through the official website: Applicants have until August 30 to fill out the form and attach the required documentation. It is important that candidates have sufficient time to attend the sessions and demonstrate significant progress in the exercises and tasks assigned, which will require a minimum dedication of eight hours per week.
