Due to the low culture of insurance in the country, which does not even reach 10 percent of people who have insurance, in Veracruz this figure is reflected, above all, in the little penetration that there is in terms of auto insurance, and unfortunately those who suffer the consequences are the victims of those accidents that there are more and more, so auto liability insurance should be required by lawconsidered Santiago Barrera Ruiz, president of the Mexican Association of Agents of Insurance Xalapa section.
“In Veracruz we have very low penetration level as to safe of cars and unfortunately they happen a lot of accidents and the victims end up in public health institutions and in the end it is a burden for the state, we have requested, already on several occasions, that a law be established that makes civil liability insurance for drivers of vehicles truly mandatory, because in today is not exercised as it should be, then it is necessary that there is a greater penetration, precisely to help the victims of the accidents roads, that is what no one sees,” he stressed.
He affirmed that according to the needs of the population, there is a lack of insurance agentssince it is a profession that must reach more people.
“It is not so easy to reach all people, I believe that we do not even have 10 percent of the national population insured and that is why it is important that more and more people let’s dedicate this activity“, he indicated.
He regretted that in Mexico there is not a insurance cultureHowever, he recognized that there is more and more awareness due to the relationship that exists worldwide.
“Increasingly we know more about the importance of having safethere are more and more natural phenomena that must be faced, and therefore, the need to have insurance is valued,” he said.
He recognized that in the case of cargo transport federal, if there is a law that requires all transportation of federal cargo to have insuranceHowever, there are many cases where the person responsible for the accident with trucks or trailers of this turn, flee the place, without responding to the victims for the injuries.
“Unfortunately, sometimes the people who take out insurance do not do so with sufficient strength to face such great risks such as those of a serious accident, for example, if a truck happens to bring three or four vehicles and has an insured sum of one million pesos, since it is not enough, you need to have an insured sum of 10 million of pesos to be able to face the risk that a unit of these dimensions represents”, he gave an example.
He stated that unfortunately, both the one who buys the insurance and the one who sells it, do not analyze all the risks that exist, because in those cases it is necessary to make a policy quite robustaaccording to the type of activity carried out by the unit.
Finally he reiterated and did the call the authorities to make auto liability insurance mandatory.
