Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has called for the inclusion of at least two eminent scholars in the National Textbook Revision and Revision Committee notified by the Ministry of Education.

Call for inclusion of eminent scholars in National Textbook Committee

On Sunday (September 22), the secretary general of the party, former MP Professor Mia Golam Parwar said these things in a statement.

He said, on behalf of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, we are calling for the inclusion of at least two scholars, including an Aliya and a scholar educated in Qaumi education, in the National Textbook Revision and Revision Committee.

Parwar said in a statement that the National Textbook Revision and Revision Committee has been announced recently in a notification of the Ministry of Education. We have noticed that no scholars have been included in the National Textbook Revision and Revision Committee notified by the Ministry of Education. No Islamic thinker or learned scholar has been placed in such an important committee in a 92 percent Muslim-dominated country. The previous anti-Islamic government included many anti-Islamic Tahzeeb-Tamaddun subjects in the textbooks during its nearly 17-year rule, which is in no way acceptable in a 92 percent Muslim-dominated country.

In a statement, the Jamaat-e-Islami secretary said that many anti-Muslim and anti-atheist topics have been included in the national textbook as part of a far-reaching conspiracy. At various times, learned scholars and Islamic thinkers of the country have expressed their views on this issue and protested through speeches and statements. But the fascist government paid no heed to this.
