Prominent people including brave freedom fighters of the country, university teachers have called for more extensive research on the correct history of the liberation war and the role of the Mujibnagar government in achieving independence. At the same time, they urged the students to know the correct history.

Speakers made this call at a discussion meeting organized by the Dhaka University branch of Sampriti Bangladesh at RC Majumder Arts Auditorium of Dhaka University (DU) on Monday (April 22) at 10 am.

In the meeting titled ‘Liberation War, Mujibnagar Government and Bangladesh of Harmony’, they said that the country would not have been independent if the Mujibnagar Government had not been formed. That Mujibnagar government was not based on any religion, but was formed by Bengalis. Now we are using religion politically.

Piyush Bandyopadhyay, convenor of Sampriti Bangladesh, who was present as the main discussant in the program, said that there has not been a complete research on the Liberation War or Mujibnagar. We need to work more on this. In history, March and December dominate, April lags behind. But December might not have come if there was no April (maybe the victory of December would not have come if the Mujibnagar government had not been formed). It was not just a struggle for independence, it was a struggle to build a non-sectarian nation. Even after independence, many are fighting against Bengali nationalism, against secularism. They want to make the country Pakistan.

Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor (Education) Professor Dr. spoke as the chief guest at the meeting. Sitesh Chandra Bachar. Dhaka University Teachers Association President Professor Dr. was present as a speaker. Md. Professor Nizamul Haque Bhuiyan, Dean of the Faculty of Arts. Abdul Bashir, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy Professor Dr. Feroze Ahmed. The meeting was presided over by Sampriti Bangladesh DU branch convenor Professor Dr. Biman Chandra Barua.

Apart from this, as a guest from India, the cultural personality of Assam State expressed his feelings about the independence of Bangladesh. Dr. Soumen Bharatiya and famous writer. Rita Chowdhury.
