For the first time in two consecutive years, Call of Duty returns with a direct sequel: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III picks up on the heels of the events of last year’s incredible blockbuster, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. This all-new experience will go on sale worldwide on Friday November 10 and will allow players, for the first time, to continue their journey, progression, and story seamlessly into a new year.
This new campaign continues the story immediately after the events of Modern Warfare II. Lead developer, Sledgehammer Games, in collaboration with Infinity Wardis set to deliver a Campaign packed with exciting operations, ranging from iconic cinematic experiences, to open-air combat missions and free roaming, giving the player more options than ever before.

Open Combat Missions (OCM) are an exciting innovation in the campaign of Call of Duty. Not only do they complement the cinematic missions you’re used to, but they also give you numerous additional options when it comes to the methods of completing the mission. For example, if you prefer to use stealth techniques, you can perform an OCM with the lights off, using night vision goggles and concealed weapons, and complete your objectives without letting your opponents know you’re there. However, if loud explosions and reckless abandon are part of your repertoire, throw on extra armor plates on your torso and attack targets head-on!
All 16 launch maps of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009) have been modernized, both graphically, and with meticulous attention to authenticity and to the aspects of the maps that made them so popular. Veteran players love these 6v6 core maps, and there’s no better time to introduce a generation of new players to experiencing community-favorite content from modern warfare.
These 16 main maps are complemented by the addition of four huge environments ready to launch and containing a host of new game spaces. These are made up of three all-new combat maps (large-scale locations where the Ground War and Invasion game modes will be fought).
