Activision has officially announced the highly anticipated release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, which is being touted as a “direct sequel” to 2022’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. The game promises to deliver a thrilling gaming experience with its campaign, zombies mode, and classic maps.

In a recent release, Activision shared new information about the campaign, confirming the return of Zombies, and showcasing a dozen new screenshots from across Modern Warfare III. Fans of the franchise can check out the screenshots below, giving them a glimpse of the action-packed gameplay.

One of the highlights of the upcoming game is the introduction of an all-new open-world Zombies mode. Players will be able to team up and take on hordes of zombies in what Activision claims to be the “largest Call of Duty zombies maps ever.” This mode reminds fans of the popular Zombies mode from Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War, but Activision promises new mechanics and the inclusion of some of the biggest enemies in Call of Duty history.

In addition to the Zombies mode, the developers have emphasized the importance of player choice in the campaign. The story continues from where Modern Warfare II left off, with Vladimir Makarov as the primary antagonist. Activision states that the new campaign will feature “Open Combat Missions” that give players unprecedented decision-making power. These missions provide multiple paths and choices for completing objectives, allowing players to adopt stealthy or run-and-gun playstyles. The Open Combat Missions, however, are not replacing the traditional cinematic missions but are designed to enhance the variety of the overall campaign experience.

Activision has also confirmed the inclusion of all 16 launch maps from the original Modern Warfare 2, with updates and new gameplay features. Additionally, they have revealed plans to release over 12 new core 6v6 maps as part of the game’s post-launch roadmap, including modes like Hardpoint, Kill Confirmed, and the unique 3v3v3 Cutthroat Mode.

Fans eager to get their hands on the game will have the opportunity to participate in an open beta across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. More details about the beta dates will be announced soon. Furthermore, pre-ordering the game will grant players access to the campaign up to a week before the official release.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III will be available worldwide on November 10 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
