This is one of the latest images that show that the world of the underworld and hitmen are gaining ground in Peru.
One of the last victims was Julio Elvis Tupia Rúa, a 33-year-old lawyer and accountant, who lost his life after a hitman fired more than three shots at him in the head, in the middle of a public thoroughfare, and in front of his co-workers. . The bloody act was recorded in the images of security cameras in the area.

The crime was perpetrated on Canta Callao avenue, in Callao, when the victim was chatting quietly with his friends outside the accounting law firm where he worked.
In the security videos you can see the moment in which the hitman approaches Tupia and shoots him several times, when he was with his four companions. The people who were next to the victim had no choice but to run away from the murderer.

Tupia Rúa’s body was left lying on the sidewalk, while one of his friends returned to him to ask for help to try to save his life.
The new victim of the hitman was transferred to the Luis Negreiros Hospital, EsSalud, where he finally died due to serious injuries caused by the gunshots.
Although so far the National Police has not given details about the motives for the cruel murder, it is suspected that he was a victim of quota collection.
In Metropolitan Lima alone, from January to July 2023, 186 crimes linked to cases of hitmen have already been committed, warns the Homicide Division of the National Police of Peru. Unfortunately, the number may continue to grow.
